Dostihový svět zasáhla zdrcující zpráva o smrti australského super koně Phar Lapa krátce po jeho dechberoucícm triumfu v Agua Caliente Handicapu, nejbohatším dostihu světa. Věda však tehdy ještě nebyla schopna objasnit příčinu jeho smrti a média tak mohla dosytosti spekulovat a vytvářet senzační hypotézy.

The racing world was hit by devastating news of the death of australian super horse Phar Lap just after his breathtaking victory in the Agua Caliente Handicap, by that time the richest horserace in the world. Science in that period, however, was not able to explain the cause of Phar Lap´s sudden death properly and media could only speculate to create a sensational hypothesis.
Today, scientists have managed to decipher part of the puzzle... Nevertheless, the whole truth will never be known.
